Missing man found dead in durian orchard

LUNDU: A local man, who had been missing since Saturday, was found dead in his durian orchard at Kampung Sebiris here this afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Mat Undek, 56.

It was reported that he had not returned home since the previous day, prompting concern among family members before his body was found.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they were alerted by police to retrieve the body, which was discovered by the victim’s family at around 12.30 pm.

Firefighters from Lundu station were dispatched to the scene following the emergency call at 1.36 pm.

The body was found motionless in the orchard, about 5km from the village. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The firefighters later assisted the police in carrying the body out of the orchard before it was taken to Lundu Hospital for post-mortem.
