SARATOK: The body of a 27-year-old man who was reported missing in Kampung Seberang, Meludam, was found without limbs in the wee hours of today (July 21).

The victim identified as Abang Mohd Norazat Bin Abang Salim, had gone out fishing alone on July 19 and did not return home.

A spokesman from the Sarawak Fire Department (Bomba) said around 2am, the victim’s father and three villagers informed the rescuers that they had found the victim’s remains upstream near the Meludam water plant.

“They found the victim’s body floating about 2.1km from the search and rescue (SAR) control post.

“When the body was found, it was incomplete as there were traces of crocodile bites on the face; and both legs and hands were missing,” the spokesman said.

Upon receiving information, the team quickly rushed to the scene to retrieve the body and brought it back to the SAR control post.

It was later handed over to the police to be taken to the hospital.
