SRI AMAN: An elderly person who was reported missing was found dead about one kilometre from his home at Rumah Anjar Sinjor here yesterday (Jul 30).
The victim was found at about 11.10am following a search and rescue (SAR) operation involving the Civil Defence Force (APM), police, the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), and villagers.
APM Sri Aman said it received a call from the police at 8.57am regarding the missing person before deploying its personnel to the scene.
The operation began with a briefing involving all participating agencies before search efforts were carried out in the identified area.
“The victim was found about one kilometre from his residence but was pronounced dead at the scene,” it said in a statement.
The SAR operation ended at 11.30am after all procedures at the location were completed.
