KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng has called on Mixue Group to consider setting up its Southeast Asian supply chain hub in Kuching, following the opening of Mixue Ice Cream & Tea’s first outlet in East Malaysia.
Speaking at the grand opening ceremony at Farley Kuching Mall today, Wee said Kuching’s strategic location, developed infrastructure and commitment to becoming a regional investment and logistics hub made it an ideal base for the company’s expansion.
“By setting up a supply chain base here, Mixue would not only serve the Southeast Asian market more efficiently, but also create more job opportunities and help strengthen our local industrial ecosystem,” he said.
Wee also encouraged more Chinese entrepreneurs and brands to invest in Kuching, particularly in sustainable and green industries.

He added that MBKS remained committed to offering a favourable business environment and supportive policies.
The mayor noted that the arrival of Mixue in Kuching was not only a boost for local consumers with its high-quality beverages, but also a fresh injection of vitality into the city’s economy.
He highlighted that Kuching and Zhengzhou, in China’s Henan Province, had enjoyed a long-standing friendship, with cooperation steadily expanding in trade, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
“The opening of Mixue’s first East Malaysia outlet is a vivid reflection of this partnership,” Wee said.
He added that he hoped to see more enterprises, talents and cultural exchanges flowing between both regions in the future.
He extended his congratulations to Mixue on its auspicious launch, expressing confidence that the brand’s presence would further strengthen business ties between Kuching and Zhengzhou, and Sarawak and Henan Province.
Also present were Consul General Xing Weiping, Farley group director Eijing Lau, Mixue Malaysia general manager Wang Wei Long and Mixue Kuching Farley store director Aaron Wee.
