SIBU: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Branch held a mobile service to help senior citizens apply for the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) and Senior Citizens Health Benefit (SCHB) initiative of RM500 at Yalin Coffeeshop on Jalan Kampung Nyabor here, today.
The counter service which was opened to senior citizens, aged 60 and above, to look after their welfare received an overwhelming response.
SUPP Bawang Assan Branch chairman, councillor Kevin Lau Kor Jie and his members as well with other local community leaders were also present to collaborate in providing the service.

Lau also thanked the public who had approached his team members, councillors and community leaders to obtain the service as well as those who assisted in the KGC and SCHB applications.
“I would also like to thank the coffee shop owner for his kind cooperation in allowing us to provide services here.
“I am happy to see such a good response from the public to our mobile service today,” he told reporters.
According to him, those who did not have time to visit the mobile service can come to the Sibu SUPP Headquarters at Jalan Kampung Datu (behind the Sibu Court Building) here from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 3 pm.
“As long as the applicant is a Sarawakian, they are eligible to apply for both welfare assistance,” added Lau, who is also Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) Environment and Public Health Standing committee chairman.
