KUCHING: All air quality monitoring stations across Sarawak recorded moderate air quality levels as at 4:00 pm today, according to data from the Department of Environment’s Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS).
Currently, Mukah registered the highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading at (98), followed by Kuching (79), Samarahan (75), Sarikei (72), Miri (73), Serian (71), Bintulu (67), Sibu (62), Samalaju (63), Sri Aman (56) and Kapit (52).
Under Malaysia’s API classification, readings of 0-50 are considered Good, 51-100 are Moderate, and 101-200 are classified as Unhealthy.
While no locations in Sarawak have recorded unhealthy levels so far, the public is advised to remain vigilant and take precautions, especially in vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions.
