BAU: Thirteen summonses were issued during a motorcycle enforcement operation carried out by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) of Bau District Police on Friday night.

The operation, held from around 6 pm to 10 pm, covered several locations including Bau town, Jalan Krokong, Jalan Singai, Jambusan and Siniawan.

Bau District police chief Mohd Haide A. Rahman said officers inspected 30 motorcycles and checked 35 individuals during the operation, which focused on curbing traffic offences and unsafe motorcycling practices.

He said among the most common offences recorded were modified exhausts, vehicle structure modifications, missing side mirrors, expired road tax, no driving licence, non-compliant number plate and no rear brake.

“In relation to this, all road users, especially motorcyclists must obey traffic laws and prioritise safety at all times,” he said in a statement.

He also urged parents to monitor their children to prevent them from engaging in illegal motorcycling or activities that violate road regulations.

Mohd Haide added that the police will continue to conduct such operations and welcomes information from the public regarding illegal street racing or other dangerous activities by channeling them to the Bau District police station at 082-763311.
