KUCHING: Chief Political Secretary to the Premier, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman condemns the Molotov cocktail attack at a KK Super Mart outlet in Jalan Satok recently.
He stressed that the incident was not only against the law but also an act of violence which should not be tolerated.
“I urge members of the public to remain calm and I am confident that the police are pursuing the matter and bringing the perpetrator to justice.
“At the same time, I advise the public to avoid speculations and let the police conduct their investigation into the incident. I would like to remind everyone not to take the law into their own hands and to respect the rule of law,” he said in a statement today.
Earlier, a KK Super Mart convenience store in Jalan Satok here suffered a small fire after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at it.
Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the incident was reported by a 25-year-old employee of the convenience store.
The police are now actively tracking down the suspect and the case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code which provides for a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
