SIBU: Fire completely razed a house at Rumah Gudan, Sungai Anak, Balingian, Mile 88, Selangau-Sibu Road yesterday.
Tatau Fire and Rescue Station deployed seven firemen led by PBK II Bonny Sera to the scene after receiving a distress call at 10.14am. The fire was extinguished in about half-an-hour.
According to Bomba, the house was occupied by a 49-year-old woman.
When the incident occurred, the victim was working at a nearby garden.
There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire and loss to properties are yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, in Bintulu a wooden house in Kampung Ulu Nyalau was burnt to the ground yesterday, leaving 11 people including seven children homeless.
Seven firemen from Bintulu fire station rushed to the scene following an alert at 3.19pm.
However, when they arrived at the scene, the fire had already gutted the whole house.
No injuries were reported in the incident as the victims managed to flee to safety when the fire broke out.
The actual cause of the incident is not immediately known as investigation is underway.
