MOSCOW, Russia: Requests for new contracts for the supply of Russian energy resources are being received from most Asian countries, Russian Energy Minister, Sergey Tsivilev, said on Wednesday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
“We are fulfilling all our obligations under existing contracts, and now we have received many applications for additional contracts, new ones that are under discussion… First of all, these are Asian partners,” Tsivilev said, noting that most Asian countries have sent requests to conclude contracts.
Meanwhile, Deputy Energy Minister, Roman Marshavin, said almost all Southeast Asian countries are turning to Russia for energy supplies due to the crisis.
“Almost all the countries of Southeast Asia are turning [to Russia],” Marshavin told reporters when asked which countries are turning to Russia for energy supplies.
Sri Lanka is interested in oil and other energy supplies from Russia, but the volumes are still unknown, Marshavin added. – BERNAMA-SPUTNIK/RIA NOVOSTI
