PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), through its Malaysian Space Agency (BPAngkasa), has confirmed receiving initial reports of a bright light sighting in Sabah’s skies on Thursday night, June 4.
In a statement today, MOSTI said no official reports have been received so far regarding any debris from suspected space objects, such as rocket parts, on land or at sea.
“BPAngkasa in collaboration with relevant agencies, is actively monitoring the situation,” the statement read.
MOSTI advised the public not to touch any suspicious objects and to report them immediately to the authorities by calling 999 or contacting BPAngkasa directly at 03-8885 8685 or bpadg@mosti.gov.my.
The ministry also urged the public to refrain from speculation and to rely only on official sources. Further updates will be announced as they become available. – BERNAMA
