SIBU: A mother sustained a fractured left arm and facial injuries after her car skidded and crashed into a concrete barrier at the Airport roundabout yesterday (May 28).
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Zone 4 chief Andy Alie said firefighters from Sibu Jaya station were deployed to the scene near the Bintulu-Sibu Jaya flyover following an emergency call at 2.38 pm.
“Upon arrival, they found the 40-year-old woman injured and her three children unharmed in the Toyota Land Cruiser.
“Firefighters attended to the injured victim and assisted her out of the vehicle,” he said in a statement.
She was later transported to the hospital for further treatment.
Before wrapping up the operation at 3.54 pm, the team carried out flushing works to ensure the road is safe for other motorists.
