SERIAN: A local man was found dead after an accident that caused him to fall into a river along Jalan Muara Mongkos early this morning (Dec 28).
The accident happened at around 3.55 am when the victim lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a bridge guardrail, causing him to plunge into the river below.
He was later found by villagers in an unconscious state.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Serian station were dispatched to the scene, about 38km away, following a distress call.
No rescue operation was required, as the victim had already been recovered by members of the public.
Unfortunately, paramedics from Bunan Health Clinic pronounced the victim, identified as Belvind Avril Bobbyson, 22, dead at the scene.
His body was then handed over to the police for further action.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the operation ended at 5.40 am.
