SIBU: A motorcyclist was killed in a late-night accident involving two Perodua Alza vehicles at the Kemuyang traffic lights here on Friday (Jan 30).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call at about 10.19 pm and dispatched a team from the Sibu Jaya station to the scene, located about 11 kilometres away.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the motorcycle rider trapped beneath a black Perodua Alza following the collision involving the motorcycle and two cars.

Rescue personnel extricated the victim from under the vehicle, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry (KKM) personnel.

The victim was confirmed dead at the scene.

The body was subsequently handed over to police and KKM for further action.

Firefighters also carried out flushing works to clear debris and ensure road safety before concluding operations at about 12.10 am.
