MIRI: A 24-year-old man lost his life in a self-accident after his motorcycle went out of control and crashed into a road divider along the Pan Borneo Highway in the early hours of yesterday morning (Feb 8).
Miri District police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed a police report regarding the incident was received at 5.19 am.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcycle was travelling from the direction of Bintulu when the rider lost control, resulting in the fatal collision.
The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the motorcycle sustained significant damage.
Following the incident, police have opened an investigation paper under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
