SIMANGGANG: A 29-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash at the Temudok Flyover after he was thrown off his motorcycle yesterday (March 24).

The deceased was involved in a collision with a sedan before the impact of the crash sent him flying off his bike. He then landed on the left lane of the flyover.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. The sedan driver, however, only experienced light injuries.

According to the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received a distress call pertaining to the incident at around 9.42pm.

A team of nine firefighters from Sri Aman station was rushed to the scene, which was only 4 kilometres away.

“Upon arrival, the team found the victim was lying on the road.

“The victim suffered major injuries to the head and was unconscious. He was pronounced dead by the paramedics who were present at the scene,” Bomba said.

The body was handed over to the police for further action.
