LIMBANG: A 26-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a road accident involving a motorcycle and a car at Taman Tasik Bukit Mas here on Thursday morning.

The victim, identified as Mohd Haswanddy Sahari, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said it received an emergency call at 7.40 am and dispatched a team from the Limbang Fire and Rescue Station to the location.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that the collision involved a motorcycle and a multi-purpose vehicle.

Two occupants of the car, including a woman, sustained injuries. An elderly female passenger was was safely evacuated by firefighters.

The injured victims were handed over to medical personnel and transported to the hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

The body of the motorcyclist was later handed over to the police following the arrival of a police vehicle for further investigation.

Firefighters also carried out road cleaning operations to remove debris from the accident, ensuring the area was safe for public use before returning to the station.

A total of six personnel were involved in the operation, supported by one Fire Rescue Tender and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services vehicle.

Firefighters and medical personnel provide emergency assistance to a victim.
