BARCELONA: Sarawak Information Systems Sdn. Bhd. (SAINS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Accenture Solutions Sdn Bhd (Accenture), a leading global professional services company, to speed up Sarawak’s digital transformation.
The move will build a highly skilled workforce, and strengthen cybersecurity.
The MoU was formalised at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025 recently between chief executive officer (CEO) of SAINS, Busiai Seman, and country managing director of Accenture Malaysia, Azwan Baharuddin.
According to Busiai, the collaboration presents a unique opportunity to accelerate the growth of the technology sector in Sarawak.
“By combining SAINS’ deep understanding of local needs with Accenture’s global expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, we aim to build a stronger, more secure digital landscape for the region.
“This partnership will also help cultivate homegrown talent that will drive the country’s digital economy forward,” he said in a press statement issued by SAINS.
Busiai dded that the initiative aligns with SAINS’ long-term commitment to advancing technology solutions and providing essential digital services to local communities and businesses in Sarawak.
Meanwhile, Azwan affirmed Accenture’s commitment to support the digital transformation in Sarawak.
“Through this partnership with SAINS, we aim to leverage cutting-edge technologies like AI and cybersecurity to drive innovation, enhance public sector capabilities, and upskill talent to achieve its long-term digital goals.
“This collaboration is a testament to our dedication to advancing Malaysia’s digital economy and ensuring the country remains at the forefront of global technological progress,” he said.
