KUCHING: Projek SUARA 2.0 has been launched as one of Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak’s (YPS) most significant strategic initiatives this year, marking a major milestone in the foundation’s efforts to strengthen youth engagement and inter-generational dialogue.
YPS chief executive Datuk Aloysius J Dris said the programme stands out as a key platform aimed at empowering young Sarawakians to become catalysts for change.
He said the initiative represents a meaningful close to YPS’ annual calendar, describing it as an important step in shaping conversations around issues that matter to the state.
“This programme helps us embark on our transformative path in creating a platform for inter-generational dialogue and collaboration while empowering youth to be agents of change,” he was speaking at the opening ceremony here today, which was officiated by deputy chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam.

Aloysius emphasised that Projek SUARA 2.0 focuses on relevant and current issues affecting Sarawakians, with the hope that youth participants will be able to influence perspectives and craft impactful solutions for future generations.
Highlighting this commitment, he said the programme specifically targets undergraduates, whom YPS regards as future leaders and drivers of societal progress.
This year’s edition brings together 60 young participants from across Sarawak for a three-day deliberation on key topics, including the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), the Post-Covid Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and the theme ‘Youth as Change Makers’.
Aloysius hoped the participants will engage in meaningful exchanges throughout the programme, enabling them to shape new approaches in addressing issues affecting fellow Sarawakians.
