MIRI: The Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) is actively working to enhance the productivity of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through the implementation of various initiatives.

Dr. Mazlina Shafi’i, the Sarawak region MPC director, said the organisation will continue implementing a range of initiatives outlined in the Malaysia Productivity Blueprint (MPB).

Speaking at the Innobiz Productive Race held during the Sarawak zone SMEs week at Coco Cabana here on Saturday, Mazlina highlighted the ongoing efforts to accelerate productivity growth in the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), with a target of achieving higher worker productivity growth of 3.6 per cent per year.

Collaboration with government agencies remains a key aspect, with a focus on talent enhancement programs, digital transformation, innovation, and fostering a strong business ecosystem.

According to her, the goal is for SMEs to account for 45 per cent of the GDP by 2025. To achieve this, SME entrepreneurs need to swiftly adapt to digital technology and explore opportunities to compete in a broader market spectrum.
