KOTA PADAWAN: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) will roll out a special “Pay Assessment Rates and Win” lucky draw offering prizes worth RM20,000 to encourage ratepayers to settle their 2026 assessment rates promptly.
In a statement issued on Thursday, MPP said the incentive programme is open to property owners and occupants within its jurisdiction who pay their 2026 assessment rates in full, covering both the first and second half bills and clear any outstanding arrears on or before May 31.
“This initiative is introduced as a token of appreciation to responsible ratepayers who fulfil their obligation early and in full.
“It also reflects the council’s proactive and customer-friendly approach in promoting a culture of timely payment,” the council said.
The lucky draw is scheduled to be held at the end of June 2026, with eligible ratepayers standing a chance to win attractive prizes.
Participation is open to all rateable holdings registered under individual ownership in the MPP system, subject to stipulated terms and conditions.
MPP noted that this is the first time it is organising such a programme.
“We warmly encourage all property owners and occupants within the MPP area to settle their assessment rates as early as possible and before the closing date on May 31, to qualify for the lucky draw,” it added.
According to the council, timely payment of assessment rates contributes directly to its ability to maintain public facilities, improve municipal services and enhance the overall quality of life for the Padawan community.
