MULU: Recipients of the state government’s Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants are reminded to use the allocation granted to them according to their application letters.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala stressed this to the recipients of Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), associations, and clubs in his constituency.

Gerawat, who is also the Mulu assemblyman urged the chairpersons of each organisation to hold meetings with their members about the allocation.

“This is to provide clarification about the source and use of the allocation to avoid confusion among their members and other association members,” he said in his speech during the grants handover ceremony recently.

A total of seven recipients in the Mulu constituency received the MRP grants totaling RM86,800.

“Ensure that the grant applied for is in line with the application letter, whether it is for carrying out village activities, improving village conditions, or annual activities organized,” he said.

He also advised the recipients to submit a report to the Mulu Service Centre according to the activities being carried out for the purpose of audit.

“This is to prevent misunderstandings from some parties regarding the allocation given,” he concluded.
