KUCHING: MRS Management Sdn Bhd and Unimas Edu Sdn Bhd commemorated their strategic learning partnership in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Tuesday.

Both share a similiar vision to be lifelong learning partners for corporate individuals and communities around them.

They believe that this is a step forward in the right direction to build the nation by empowering employees to acquire knowledge.

The Certified Management Programme was developed to provide managerial level personnel with skills and knowledge required to carry out their responsibilities. This programme also focus on developing skills through structured exercises, group discussions and case studies. Each participant leaves with a personal development plan on how they can integrate their learning to their workplace thus placing heavy emphasis on the practicality of the course verses solely theoritical training.

Since its inception in 2017, 28 full time managers (3 batches) from various industries such as manufacturing, electrical, energy and acquaculture have invested in 6 days of informal classroom and hundreds of hours across 3 months to complete on-site classes, group work and project assignments. They have chosen to pursue this programme with a similiar goal to upskill and improve their management capabilities. The three sessions were concluded on April 11 (Kuching), Nov 10 (KL) & October 25 (KL),   2017 respectively.

Since then, all have successfully graduated and are now certified and qualified managers.

Also in conjunction with the MoU signing ceremony, Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaili, Vice Chancellor of Unimas also presented the successful candidates their Certificates of Competency. He said,” Learning opportunities have to be constantly created and updated to expand the skills and knowledge base of all employees to provide a level playing field in a globalised working environment. Employers must be able to support and provide sufficient training to their employees in order to cope with the ever evolving job demands. This is where the training consultants and academicians come into the picture to assist the organisation in analysing and identifying the skills/knowledge gap, (2) develop and design training materials, and (3) organise and execute the training activities.

Unimas is indeed honoured to embark on a collaboration such as this with MRS Management Sdn Bhd, a seasoned training consultant in Malaysia to discuss ways to tap into the needs of our workforce and create more training oportunities.

Madam Kristine Liew, the CEO of MRS Management highlighted that the 2018 intake will begin on July 17 (KL) and Sept 3 (Kuching). Registration is now open. Interested participants may also write to MRS at mrs@mrstraining.commrs@mrstraining.com or contact them at 082-454343.
