BALAI RINGIN: Clubs or associations may apply for funding from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) if they wish to organise programmes related to tradition and culture.

Its Deputy Minister, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, said MTCP receives an annual allocation of RM10 million, which can be used to support clubs or associations in carrying out such programmes, provided they submit an application.

“Clubs or associations can receive allocations ranging from RM50,000 to RM70,000 and up to RM150,000, depending on the type of programme they plan to organise in their respective areas.

“All they need to do is submit a formal application letter to our ministry for approval before the programme begins,” he said when officiating the charity dinner held in conjunction with the Welfare Fundraising Programme organised by the Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association (PVATM), Balai Ringin branch, here recently.

Snowdan, who is also Balai Ringin state assemblyman, expressed his appreciation to the veterans for their sacrifices and contributions in safeguarding the security and sovereignty of the nation, including Sarawak, which has enabled the peace that the younger generation continues to enjoy today.

During the event, he pledged RM10,000 for the Srikandi PVATM Balai Ringin branch and contributed RM20,000 to the PVATM Balai Ringin branch as a gesture of continued support for efforts to uphold the welfare of veterans.
