DARO: The Muara Lassa Bridge will be officially inaugurated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Feb 22.

The announcement was made by Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad while chairing the coordination meeting for the inauguration ceremony at the Daro District Office meeting room on Tuesday (Feb 4).

The meeting was attended by Mukah Division Resident Datuk Kueh Lei Poh, along with heads of various implementing departments and agencies.

Safiee noted that the bridge, which was first opened to the public on Jan 9, has significantly improved accessibility for residents, particularly those from Pulau Bruit and the Daro mainland, who no longer need to rely on ferry services.

“The government’s commitment and the efforts of local leaders to enhance the comfort and convenience of rural communities are materialising through the construction of various infrastructure projects that will bring long-term benefits to the local population.

“The construction of this bridge is a game changer, paving the way for faster development in Daro District and its surrounding areas,” he said.

The inauguration of the Muara Lassa Bridge is particularly meaningful as it coincides with the 51st anniversary of Daro District establishment.

Additionally, during his visit, the Premier will also officiate the Daro District Community Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) building and later attend the launch of the new Daro waterfront.
