KOTA SAMARAHAN: Issues related to water supply disruptions in the Muara Tuang state constituency have been given attention and will be brought to the relevant water supply authority and technical agencies for further action.

State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Datuk Idris Buang, who is also Muara Tuang assemblyman, conducted a site visit to Kampung Sungai Mata here on Monday (Jan 19) to assess complaints related to ongoing water supply disruptions affecting residents.

He said the visit allowed him to obtain first-hand accounts from villagers on the situation on the ground, including recurring complaints and suggestions linked to the prolonged water issues.

“Water supply is a basic necessity. I came to Kampung Sungai Mata to see the actual situation and to listen to residents so that any solutions proposed later are more effective and suited to local needs.”

During the engagement, locals raised several key issues, including low water pressure, intermittent supply disruptions and difficulties in accessing clean water, particularly during peak hours.

The situation, he said, had affected residents’ daily routines and also posed challenges in terms of hygiene, health and small-scale economic activities in the village.

Idris said all feedback gathered during the visit would be conveyed to the relevant water supply authority and technical agencies for further assessment and action.

“The matter would continue to be monitored to ensure appropriate follow-up measures were taken, including the implementation of longer-term solutions to address the recurring water supply issues in the area.”

Residents also expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that it provided an opportunity for their concerns to be heard directly and hoped that the issue would be resolved in due course.
