KOTA BHARU: Former Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun has been appointed as the president of Kelantan Red Warrior (KRW) FC.

KRW FC in a statement said the exceptional reputation of Muhamad Zaki, 61, in leadership, discipline and integrity would be instrumental in shaping KRW FC’s professional and competitive culture.

“KRW FC would like to congratulate Muhamad Zaki on his appointment as president.

“Muhamad Zaki has served as the Kelantan police chief, who has proven to be efficient in organisational management and community relations,” said the statement on KRW FC’s Facebook page on Monday (Aug 18).

The statement also hopes that under Muhamad Zaki’s leadership, the team can unite players, management and supporters towards bigger success.

Earlier, the media reported that Gerakan Selamat Kelantan (GSK) chairman Nik Hafiz Naim Nik Hassan relinquished all ownership and position as president of KRW FC on August 2.

Nik Hafiz Naim also admitted that the drastic decision he took was also related to the issue of sanctions by the International Football Federation (FIFA) which was raised by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) recently. – BERNAMA
