KUCHING: My Team and Al Falah FC have both booked their places in the semi-finals of the 2024 Liga Setia Raja MuFA (LSRM 2024) following impressive performances in their quarter-final encounters on Saturday.
My Team, one of the clear favourites to win this year’s edition, delivered a dominant 5-1 victory over Leetonia FC in a match held at Padang Mesra MDDM.
The star of the show was forward Paul Sambang, who found the back of the net four times in a dazzling display. His goals came in the 1st, 19th, 34th, and 76th minutes, underlining his clinical finishing.
Sufizal Ismail also contributed to the scoreline with a well-taken goal in the 53rd minute.
Previously Paul made history in MuFA after scoring 12 consecutive goals in a single league fixture against 80’s Gen Leetonia FC’s only consolation came from a strike by Mohd. Farizzudin Jais, who scored in the 58th minute, but it was too little, too late to mount a serious challenge.
On the other hand, Al Falah FC edged past PP Academy in a tight contest, securing a slender 1-0 victory.
The only goal of the match came courtesy of Mohammad Imran Moris, who found the net in the 36th minute to ensure his team’s progression.
Despite the best efforts of PP Academy, Al Falah FC held firm defensively, and the narrow lead was enough to see them through to the next stage.
Both teams now await their semi-final opponents, with the tournament closing in for a conclusion as battle for the coveted title continually intensifies.
