SIBU: The National Association of Malaysian Life Insurance Fieldforce and Advisors (NAMLIFA) Sibu Branch hosted the 22th AKARD Award presentation ceremony at a leading hotel here on Saturday night.
The prestigious event, held to honour top-performing and outstanding life insurance and financial services professionals in Malaysia, recognised the professionalism, high standards and excellent performance of agents and advisers in the life insurance industry.
Speaking at the event’s opening ceremony, NAMLIFA’S President, Krishnan Appansu, said the NAMLIFA Sibu Branch celebrated a significant milestone, with 65 awards presented to 44 distinguished recipients who exemplify excellence in the insurance profession.
He said that nationwide, NAMLIFA currently has 8,000 members, and aim to reach 12,000 by the end of this year.
Stressing that education remains NAMLIFA’s core mission, Krishnan said over 2,000 agents completed the Certified Life Planner Marketer (CLPM) programme last year, enhancing their professionalism and expertise.
“We will soon launch our new programme, the Fellow Chartered Financial Practitioner (FChFP), and I hope Sibu Branch will once again lead the way by being the first to support this important initiative.
“As we look to the future, let us continue this journey of growth, excellence, and unity. Together we will achieve even greater success,” Krishnan added.
Earlier, NAMLIFA Sibu Branch’s Chairman, Ralikrishnan Wong, said insurance is about people – about protecting families, empowering businesses, and ensuring there is always a safety net of support when uncertainty strikes.
He noted that the award recipients represent the very best in the life insurance industry, having demonstrated innovation, integrity, and commitment in serving policyholders and strengthening public trust.
“Their achievements remind that insurance is not simply a business – it is a calling of responsibility and care.
“As your chairman, I am deeply honoured to lead this association at such a pivotal time. But leadership is never about one individual – it is about collective vision, share responsibility, and united action.
“With your continued support, I am confident that we will not only meet the challenges ahead but also ensure that the insurance industry remains a beacon of trust for generation to come,” Wong added.
