SIBU: Building and sustaining a successful business is no easy task, especially in today’s fast-paced global landscape.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, speaking at the Rimbunan Hijau (RH) Group’s 50th Anniversary Celebration at Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang last night, credited the company’s longevity to visionary leadership and adaptability amid shifting political, social and economic tides.

“Every era brings new challenges. In today’s digital world, competition knows no borders,” she said, representing Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, at the event.

Nancy paid tribute to RH founder, Tan Sri Tiong Hiew King, who started the business here on May 13, 1975.

“Together with his brothers, he built RH from the ground up, expanding from a local enterprise in Sibu into a major player across Sarawak, Malaysia, and the global market,” she said.

She praised the group’s resilience and commitment, highlighting its contributions to the economic development of Sibu, Sarawak, and beyond.

“With a dedicated and talented workforce, RH has overcome countless challenges and established itself as a leader across various industries. Their success is widely respected and admired,” Nancy added.

Looking to the future, she expressed confidence in the company’s continued growth under the leadership of Datuk Tiong Thai King.

“As RH marks its golden jubilee, we wish them ongoing success, and trust they will remain a pillar of progress for Sibu, Sarawak and Malaysia,” she said.
