LUNDU: A total of 42 individuals received their Sarawak Native Recognition Certificates at a brief ceremony held at the Lundu District Office on Thursday (Dec 12).

Among the recipients, 37 individuals are residents of the Opar constituency, while five others hail from outside the Lundu district but now reside in the area.

Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang, who attended the event, said the Sarawak government has introduced an online application system for these certificates, replacing the traditional method of applying through district offices.

He hoped the new system would simplify the application process, although he stressed the importance of providing clear guidance to the public on how to navigate the online platform effectively.

The recipients expressed their gratitude for the official recognition.

Also present were the Lundu district officers and local community leaders.
