KUCHING: Chemsain Konsultant Sdn Bhd has ended its annual Domestic E-Waste and Used Cooking Oil (UCO) Recycling Campaign, collecting 2,489.02kg of electronic waste and 441.70kg of used cooking oil.

Organised by the company’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department recently, the campaign provided a structured platform for employees and members of the public to dispose of household waste responsibly.

Chemsain director Brian Chong said the initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) and the Department of Environment (DOE), reinforces the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship.

“This campaign helps reduce hazardous materials in landfills and waterways while promoting sustainable practices among our staff and the wider community,” he said.

Under DoE’s coordination, licensed contractors oversaw the proper disposal of collected materials, with Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd handling e-waste and Kim Huang Enterprise collecting used cooking oil for recycling into biodiesel and other sustainable products.

Meanwhile, Chong thanked all those involved.

“We value the continued support from NREB, DOE, Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd and Kim Huang Enterprise.

“Their collaboration is key to the success of this initiative,” he said.
