MUKAH: Efforts by residents of a neighbourhood area (KRT) to beautify their areas for a state-level competition paid off when they emerged champions in the housing category.
King Sum and Hung Liong Gardens (KSHLG KRT), which covered two housing estates, received RM2,500, and a certificate for their efforts in this year’s state-level Pertandingan Keceriaan Bulan Kebangsaan 2019.
KSHLG KRT chairman Abdul Rahman Abdullah received the prize during the Appreciation Night 2019 in Kuching recently.
It is learned that the KSHLG KRT are the first and only housing estates in this town to have formed the neighbourhood area.
KSHLG KRT was formed about five years ago and its committee members are multi-racial and multi-religious.
