KUCHING: The fifth route under the BAS.MY Kuching network, Q04M (Saujana-Bako), officially began operations today.
The route spans 39 kilometres (km) from Saujana Bus Station to Bako Terminal, with 27 designated bus stops along the way.
Its launch was marked by a site visit from Pending assemblywoman, Violet Yong Wui Wui, Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board (LPKP) Sarawak Chairman, Michael Kong Feng Nian, and its director, Cornelia Wong Chui.
The Q04M route is served by six new disabled-friendly buses operating from 5:30 am to 7:30 pm on weekdays.
During peak hours, buses run every 30 minutes, while off-peak intervals are set at one hour.
On weekends, the service operates between 6:30 am and 8:30 pm, covering key points between city and coastal areas.
Fares range from RM0.90 to RM3.50 depending on distance, and can be paid via cash, cards or e-wallets.
Malaysian citizens who are persons with disabilities (PwD), senior citizens, students or undergraduates are encouraged to apply for a free concession card.
Other Malaysians may opt for the 30-Day Unlimited Travel Pass at RM50, valid across all BAS.MY Kuching routes.
The public is urged to take full advantage of this initiative by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT).
Bus schedules are available on LPKP Sarawak’s and BAS.MY Kuching’s official Facebook pages.
