SIMUNJAN: The construction of two new ‘belian’ bridges in Kampung Sabun/Sedilo here has been successfully completed and is now open for public use, significantly enhancing accessibility for the local community.
The bridges, each measuring 21 metres in length and 1.8 metres in width, serve as vital links connecting the villagers’ agricultural areas to the main road, boosting convenience and productivity.
Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris said the project is part of the Sarawak government’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure to rural communities.
“These bridges not only improve connectivity but also create new economic opportunities, especially in facilitating the transportation of agricultural produce,” he said during the site handover ceremony on today(Dec 10).
