KUCHING: An academic publication titled “Greening Transformation: Sarawak 2030 & Beyond” was launched by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Tuesday (Jan 13).

Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said the publication is a continuation of an earlier work, “Sarawak and Transformation”.

“It presents an in-depth analysis of the administrative landscape as well as strategic policies under the leadership of Abang Johari.

“I am also informed that the book is printed entirely using recycled paper, reflecting the Sarawak government’s strong commitment to the green agenda and ecological transformation, in line with the state’s sustainable development aspirations,” he said at the Premier’s New Year Message held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching here.

He also highlighted the Premier’s support for the Sarawak public service, emphasising the need for civil servants to continuously upgrade their skills, knowledge and experience to achieve the state’s goal of becoming a developed region by 2030.

“In today’s context, we as members of the public service must be agile, responsive and open to change.

“Strengthened communication across the civil service, collaboration and transparency are key to ensuring efficiency,” he said.

He added that this is how policies, processes and regulations for the right sectors are put in place.

“We must streamline procedures, enhance transparency and reduce unnecessary bureaucracy.

“What matters now is unity of purpose and disciplined delivery. Innovation, collaboration and sustainable development must remain our priorities.

“This is how we will build a stronger and more resilient Sarawak for the next generation,” he added.

Approximately 5,300 participants, including political leaders, public service officials, community representatives, private sector players, students, and industry stakeholders attended the event.
