SARIKEI: Villagers of Rh Serit, Tanah Putih here now has a new bridge with a construction cost of RM100,000.
Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) said Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing was present to officiate at the launch of the bridge on Sunday.
“The construction of basic infrastructure such as a bridge is proof of the Sarawak government’s concern on problems faced by the people in coastal areas,” he said.
He added that the bridge was build using an allocation under the rural transformation programme (RTP).
“The bridge attracts many visitors to the longhouse and most importantly, the facilities would allow villagers to carry out their daily activities smoothly as they are nearby the coastal area,” he said.
Ding also advised the villagers to ensure the bridge is well cared for.
