SADONG JAYA: A newly completed multipurpose room at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai Buluh/Senangeh stands as a testament to the Sarawak Government’s commitment towards improving education facilities in rural areas.

The RM100,000 project provides a dedicated space for meetings, extra classes, co-curricular activities, student training, and official school programmes, ensuring a more conducive and organised learning environment.

Simunjan Assemblyman, Awla Dris, urged the school community to fully utilise the facility and maintain it for the benefit of future generations.

“With this multipurpose room, the school can now carry out various activities in a more comfortable and structured setting,” he said during the handover ceremony today.

Awla also expressed his appreciation to the Sarawak Government for consistently upgrading rural schools through Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) allocations.

Separately, two more rural infrastructure projects worth a combined RM800,000 were launched the same day in Kampung Terasi Ulu, Sadong Jaya and Kampung Sungai Apin, Simunjan.

The first project involves the construction of a new crossover in Kampung Terasi Ulu, valued at RM300,000.

It will serve as the main access route for residents and improve transportation of agricultural produce as well as access to basic services.

Assistant engineer of Samarahan Public Works Department (PWD), Mohd Azlan Affiq Mohd Nasir, said the six-month project would be monitored closely to ensure timely completion and compliance with safety and quality standards.

After the handover in Sadong Jaya, the department proceeded to Simunjan to deliver the site for another project – a new village hall for Kampung Sungai Apin costing RM500,000, also funded under the RTP.

Expected to be completed in eight months, the new hall is set to become a hub for community, social and cultural activities.
