SARIKEI: The opening of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sarikei Branch Complex is seen as a new landmark in the government’s infrastructure development landscape in Sarikei.

Federal Deputy Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, who is also the Sarikei MP, said the construction of the complex is not only a source of pride for JPJ personnel and the local community but also contributes to strengthening public trust in government institutions.

“This new complex will improve administrative efficiency and bolster public confidence in government institutions.
“It is also hoped to be a catalyst for a more dynamic, transparent, and people-centred public service system.”

Huang said this during the official opening ceremony of the JPJ Sarikei Branch Complex, which was officiated by federal Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah at the complex’s multipurpose hall on Thursday (June 19).

Huang also expressed his appreciation to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for his visionary leadership in driving the state’s development agenda.

“Under the Premier’s leadership, various development initiatives such as the Sarawak Mobility Plan, Transit Signal Priority (TSP), and smart traffic lights have been successfully implemented, directly benefitting the people.
“And may this complex stand as a symbol of JPJ’s service excellence in Sarikei and as proof of our commitment to strengthening infrastructure networks for the well-being of the people.”

The JPJ Sarikei Complex made history as the first and only JPJ office in Sarawak to feature staff quarters for its officers and personnel, marking a significant step in improving employee welfare and boosting the agency’s operational efficiency
