LAWAS: The new Lawas Administrative Office will begin operations this August, aiming to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of public services in the area.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the building, now in its final construction phase, will centralise 16 government departments and agencies under one roof.

“I have proposed some adjustments that might slightly delay the timeline, but overall, the building is well-equipped with facilities including a hall, lifts, escalators, and more,” he told reporters after inspecting the site on Sunday.

The Bukit Sari assemblyman said that once completed, the consolidated office is expected to ease public dealings with the government while improving inter-agency coordination.

“This setup will not only make it more convenient for the public but also promote better cooperation among departments and deliver more efficient services,” he added.

He added that the incorporation of modern technology into the new office is crucial to boost workplace productivity and align with the evolving demands of public service.

“I hope this facility will serve as a catalyst for improved interdepartmental synergy and upgraded service delivery,” he said.
