BINTULU: The government’s commitment to strengthening rural education continues with the opening of the new Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kuala Serupai, fully equipped with modern facilities that provide a more conducive learning environment.

Jepak state assemblyman, Iskandar Turkee, said that providing quality infrastructure is essential to ensure that the teaching and learning (PdP) process can take place optimally, thereby supporting efforts to develop human capital in rural areas.

“This building is not just a physical structure, but a symbol of hope and our long-term investment for future generations.

“With the modern classrooms, laboratories, and facilities provided, teachers can teach more innovatively while students will be more motivated to learn,” he said when officiating the new SK Kuala Serupai building today.

He added that the improved facilities were expected to enhance the quality of teaching and learning, ultimately producing knowledgeable, well-mannered, and competitive students.

Iskandar also emphasised that the successful completion of the building was the result of close cooperation among various parties, including the Ministry of Education Malaysia, the State Education Department, the District Education Office, the school administration, and the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG).

He urged the local community, including parents and community leaders to continue playing an active role in advancing education for children in the area.

“The local community plays an important role in strengthening the culture of knowledge.

“Continuous support from parents, community leaders, and villagers is crucial to ensure that every student receives proper guidance, encouragement, and attention,” he said.

He reiterated that strong cooperation between the school and the community does not only improve student performance, but also create a more positive learning environment and foster a shared sense of responsibility in educating the younger generation.

Also present were Tatau District Officer, Calvin Ligong Bujang @ Endawie; Tatau-Sebauh District Education Officer, Gani Egit; and Headmistress of SK Kuala Serupai, Marylin Entawamat.
