SIBU: Visitors to the Sarawak State Library will be happy to know that it is now allowing greater flexibility on its book loan limit and also the loan period.
The move, which came into effect on Feb 1, will allow borrowers to loan up to 15 items at a time from the previous limit of ten.
Also, the loan period has also been extended from two weeks to one month.
A press statement issued by its Sibu branch recently stated that this improvement is not only implemented at the headquarters, but also applies to all its branches.
“This comprehensive implementation ensures that all members at each branch enjoy the same benefits.
“This initiative is part of the state library’s continuous effort to strengthen the reading culture and improve the quality of library services to the community.
“It is also hoped that this improvement can support the needs of students, researchers, civil servants and the local community in obtaining reference sources more easily and comfortably,” the statement added.
Those who are not yet members are encouraged to register and enjoy the facilities and various services offered by the the library.
