PAKAN: The construction of a new Pakan District Office building, complete with staff residential quarters, is seen as a strategic move to enhance administrative efficiency and improve the quality of government services for the local community.
The matter was highlighted during a briefing held in conjunction with a working visit by the State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, to the Pakan District Office here today (Feb 13).
Upon arrival, he was welcomed by the Adviser in the Sarawak Premier’s Office, who is Pakan state assemblyman, Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom, as well as Sarikei Division Resident, Datuk Michael Ronnie Langgong.
During the briefing, Abu Bakar was informed that the existing facilities are facing space constraints and are no longer aligned with current operational demands, which continue to grow.
As such, the development of a new, more systematic and comfortable complex is deemed essential to support more organised administrative operations and ensure a more responsive approach to the needs of the people.
The project will also include the construction of residential quarters as part of efforts to enhance the welfare of civil servants serving in rural areas.
The provision of improved housing facilities is expected to create a more stable and conducive working environment, ultimately contributing to better service performance.
Before continuing his visit to the Meradong District, Abu Bakar took the opportunity to inspect the proposed project site to gain a clearer understanding of the development plans.
