KUCHING: The new Sarawak Premier’s Office Complex in Petra Jaya has been officially named the Kompleks Satria Pertiwi.
The naming and official launch of the complex were officiated tonight by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
The inauguration also coincided with the 75th birthday celebration of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Joining the ceremony was Wan Junaidi’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Sanusi, along with Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.
Other notable attendees included State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Asfia Awang Nassar, State Secretary Datuk Amar Abu Bakar Marzuki, state ministers, deputy ministers, and assemblymen.

After officiating the event, Wan Junaidi also signed the commemorative plaque for the complex, followed by a photo session.
The event proceeded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a walkabout of the new complex by Wan Junaidi, Fauziah, Abang Johari, and other distinguished guests.
Construction of the complex began in January 2023, with the goal of creating a secure and efficient administrative centre for Sarawak’s top leadership. The facility integrates modern technology and advanced security systems, including a government data centre.
Spanning more than two years, the project is expected to be fully completed in 2025. Its main structure, a three-storey building, is complemented by two auxiliary blocks and features a blend of contemporary design and local cultural influences.
Strategically positioned on elevated ground in Petra Jaya near the State Legislative Assembly, the complex is set to become the core of Sarawak’s administrative operations.
Its white façade and prominent design have earned it the nickname “Sarawak’s White House,” drawing comparisons to the official residence of the US President in Washington, DC.
