KUCHING: A new public bus route connecting Saujana and Malihah here officially began service on Tuesday (April 15), marking the continued expansion of the BAS.MY Kuching network under the federal government’s Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) programme.
Sarawak Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) Chairman, Michael Kong Feng Nian, and Director, Cornelia Wong Chui, visited the site to oversee the operational launch of Route Q01B, which runs from Saujana Bus Terminal to Malihah.
The 34-kilometre route, now serviced by six new disabled-friendly buses, includes 28 stops and aims to improve connectivity for residents in Kuching.
The travel schedule is available on the official Facebook pages of LPKP Sarawak and BAS.MY Kuching.
The BAS.MY Kuching service supports open fare payments, allowing passengers to use debit and credit cards, e-wallets or cash.
Additionally, Malaysian citizens can subscribe to a 30-Day BAS.MY Card for RM50, offering unlimited travel across all routes within the network.
The initiative also provides free travel for Malaysians who are disabled, senior citizens aged 60 and above, school students and university students, through the BAS.MY Concession Card.
