SIBURAN: The much-anticipated new Siburan Health Clinic has officially opened its doors, marking a significant milestone in improving healthcare services for the local community.
Deputy Minister of Transport (Road and Air) Datuk Dr. Jerip Susil, officiated at the event during a town hall session with the community at the Siburan Fire and Rescue Department Hall this morning (Nov 27).
“The relocation is part of the government’s initiative to cater to the increasing population and healthcare demands in the area. The clinic will continue to provide affordable healthcare, with services available for as little as RM1.
“Currently, the clinic operates with a team of two family medicine specialists, 13 medical officers, 10 assistant medical officers, 22 nurses, and 39 support staff. Further improvements and additions to the clinic’s facilities are planned for the near future.
“This clinic has come a long way since its establishment in 1964 as the Dispensary Siburan. Over the years, it has expanded its services significantly, and this new facility is a testament to our commitment to continuous improvement,” he added.
Dr. Jerip also revealed that the Siburan Health Clinic recorded 94,707 patient visits as of September 2024, with an average daily attendance of 512 patients. He noted the importance of the clinic’s role in ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for the community.
“This initiative will not only provide better healthcare services but also alleviate the burden on other healthcare facilities in the region.
“This move symbolises our commitment to providing top-quality healthcare services for the people of Siburan. I am confident that this upgraded facility will enhance the well-being of the community,” he said.
The new clinic is expected to benefit the 61,975 residents across 64 villages and 21 residential areas in Siburan, offering improved and faster access to essential healthcare services.
