KUCHING: The R3 League under the Sarawak National Football Development Programme (NFDP) 2025 treated fans to two days of nail-biting football action.
The competition brought together boys’ teams in the Under-11 and Under-12 categories, along with an Under-12 girls’ division, each producing high-energy matches and plenty of standout performances.
The NFDP Cougars stole the show in the Under-12 category, clinching the title with a commanding display of skill and teamwork.
Indonesia’s Sanggau Soccer School settled for second place, while NFDP Panthers finished third.
The Under-11 title went to another Indonesian side, TopSkor Kalbar, with Academy Soccer 87 taking second, and NFDP Panthers again completing the podium in third.
On the girls’ side, NFDP Tigers and NFDP Cougars impressed with steady progress, using the tournament as a valuable learning ground to sharpen their technical and tactical play.
Organisers also expressed gratitude to sponsors, Cekal Global and Khalish Seafood, for providing jerseys, trophies and medals, as well as to parents for their unwavering support throughout the event.
Beyond the trophies, the league doubled as a scouting platform to identify Sarawak’s top young players for the upcoming NFDP National League at Akademi Mokhtar Dahari (AMD), which will feature Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 boys’ divisions, along with Under-12 girls.
