KUCHING: A devastating fire recently swept through Taman Indah Landeh, destroying or damaging four houses and leaving 10 people homeless, believed to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit.
The fire began in the evening and quickly engulfed two homes, leaving them completely destroyed, while two neighbouring houses suffered about 20 per cent damage.
In response to the emergency, Hope Place Kuching (Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching) promptly mobilised relief after receiving a call from a concerned member of the public.
Hope Place representatives presented emergency aid to Juliana Sibat, who represented the affected families.
The assistance included basic food supplies, blankets, pails and a cooking stove top, providing immediate relief to those who lost their homes and belongings.
“Hope Place acted swiftly after the distress call and ensured that urgent necessities reached the victims,” the NGO said.
Hope Place welcomes contributions to help the fire victims and sustain its wider community work. Donations can be made directly to its Maybank account 5112 8900 1160, or via Sarawak Pay / S PAY GLOBAL by scanning the QR code available on its Facebook page.
