KAPIT: Nine people were injured in a collision involving a passenger van and a three-tonne lorry at Simpang Lajan along Jalan Song–Kapit, here today (Apr 11).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident was reported at 1.32 pm, with personnel from the Song station arriving at the scene at 1.45 pm.
“A total of 11 individuals were involved in the crash, with nine sustaining minor injuries while two others — the lorry driver and attendant — were unhurt.
“No one was trapped in the incident,” said a Bomba spokesperson.
All injured victims were taken to hospital by family members and members of the public for further treatment.
Bomba personnel provided initial treatment at the scene before handing over to the Health Ministry team.
The situation was brought under control at 2 pm and the operation concluded at 2.50 pm.
