NIAH: Nine individuals were detained in Ops NBOS Sibuti 2017 carried out by State Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) yesterday.

State AADK Director, Wan Madihi Wan Salleh in a statement said the operation was carried out at two locations namely in Ngu Batu Niah area and Rh Sebi here.

A total of 17 AADK personnel took part in the operation which began at 8.30am and ended at 1.00pm.

“In this operation, 12 people were checked and nine of them have been detained. Of the nine detained, five of them tested positive for methamphetamine,” he said, adding that a packet of substance, believed to be methamphetamine, weighing 0.17 gm, were also seized.

Meanwhile, four Indonesians had been detained after they were found violating Section 6 (1)(c) and Section 15 (1)(c) of the Immigration Act, 1959/63 during the operation.

They were handed over to the Immigration Department for further action.
